Hello readers ~ welcome to my first blog! I am grateful to Sherry Weinberg for giving me the idea of starting a blog, in which I am now posting information about all of the different performing groups and classes that I teach in the North San Francisco Bay area, as well as meaningful thoughts about music in the greater picture.

Maria's Performing Groups
The next performance of my Bija Children's Choir is on March 20, 2010-- more info to come on this rollicking story-concert that you won't want to miss!
I direct and sing with a Women's Choir that has transformed several times and we're still deciding on re-naming ourselves-- we'll be out and performing casually in January.
My latest gem is a World Music Quintet (featuring Pablo Rodriguez on guitar & vocals, Nate Lopez on bass & guitar, Jacob Harris on percussion, Bob Afifi on flute, and myself on vocals nad percussion) that is going to knock some socks off! Still finalizing our band name, but it's coming SOON! We'll be available to play for parties, winery events, festivals, etc.
Music Education Moments
Be sure to check back for my weekly "Music Education Moments" where you will find helpful teaching tips and materials, as well as occasional fun activities to help a child prepare for piano lessons.
On the thought for the week: "The best things in life aren't things"
This is my favorite thought of the holiday season. Of all the thing-wanting that is going on, I am eternally grateful for my life and livelihood in Music. I can truly say that as long as I can sing, and listen to, and share music, I have the thing that some may never have, and that is to have "enough."
For details on any of my classes, performances, recordings, etc, please visit my website at www.mariajameau.com. Thanks for reading, and I hope that you'll visit again soon.
